Williams FW15D Renault F1 (1994)

Renault V10 engine, 3493cc and 780cv

It is the car used on January 17, 94 to officially present Ayrton Senna and Damon Hill as official drivers of the Rothmans Williams Renault team at the Portuguese Estoril circuit. As Williams did not yet have the final car ready for the season that would begin two months later, the '15 FW93 was used.

You will have noticed that in the reduced model presented, the Rothmans tobacco brand does not appear decorating the body; This is because the legislation does not allow to reproduce tobacco advertising on toys. That is why the Marlboro brand does not appear on the McLaren and the Penske, nor the Camel sponsor on the '87 Lotus. Curiously, the two previous Lotus, the black ones, are reproduced with the sponsor John Player Special, but I do not know why.

In truth, most miniatures remain true to life, because in the late 80s and XNUMXs, in the French, German and British GPs it was also forbidden for cars to wear tobacco brands. Therefore, it can be said that they are the cars that participated in those races. In the case of the two blue Williamses, it would be a mistake, since he did not have time to race in any of these countries.
