It's almost there everything ready for the celebration of Retro Málaga 2024, which will take place next January 26 to 28. It will be held at the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Málaga (FYCMA) in what is its eleventh edition. Without a doubt, a room that has been installed as a fixed on the calendar en an area where there is a huge car hobby and a high level of machines.
The main novelty in 2024 will be the celebration, for the first time, of an elegance contest. Named as I Málaga Retro Elegance Contest, will allow the participation of vehicles manufactured between 1900 and 1993. Three categories will be established depending on the manufacturing period, starting with the Prewar (1900-1940), continuing with the Postwar period (1941-1970), ending in the Classics (1971-1993).
Regarding the exhibition area, the Automobile and Fashion Museum of Malaga will once again have a notable prominence. In this edition, the presence of models as striking as the Jaguar XK120 Coupe or the Cadillac Eldorado. They will share prominence with the aerodynamic Tatra T87 created by Hans Ledwinka, of which only 3 thousand units were manufactured.
EXHIBITIONS
Continuing with the top-level models that can be enjoyed at Retro Málaga 2024, Porsche will have a good representation courtesy of the private collection of Aurelio Villanueva. There will be no less than a dozen representatives of the history of the Stuttgart brand, among which a 930 RUF Flatnose stands out. It will be accompanied by other 911s like two Turbo 964 3.6 or a 993 Carrera 4S.
In addition, there will be held the 40th anniversary of Seat Ibiza, the best-selling model in the history of the Spanish brand throughout its different generations. Thanks to the collaboration of the Classic Renault Club of Andalusia, there will be a stand with three units of the Spanish model. They will be a Street version from 1988, a 1.2 Crono with a three-door body from 1989 and a Friend from 1993.
As well A well-deserved tribute will be paid to Juan Manuel Gómez Ponce. Former driver, organizer and commissioner since 1992, his impact on motorsport in the Andalusian community is enormous. In fact, he is currently the Test Race Director of the Spanish Off-Road Championship. SCHEDULES AND TICKETS FOR RETRO MÁLAGA 2024
The Andalusian show, which will take place in pavilions 1 and 2 of the FYCMA, will open its doors on Friday the 26th from 16 to 20 p.m. On Saturday the 27th, the hours will be from 10 a.m. to 21 p.m., while on Sunday the 28th it will be open from 10 a.m. to 19 p.m.
