Up for auction: Fangio and Ringo Starr's cars

The British house Silverstone Auctions, will put up for auction on November 15 a Torino 380S that belonged to Juan Manuel Fangio. On the other hand, the no less reputable Bonhams, will launch on the market on December 1 a Facel-Vega that was owned by the battery of The Beatles, Ringo Starr.

First of all, the 380S is a four-door sedan that IKA-Renault presented to Fangio in gratitude for his work as coordinator of the Argentine Mission to the Nürburgring, in which three Torinos competed against European cars in an 84-hour race.

As reported Silverstone Auctions, The car was in the possession of Fangio and his family all this time, so it is preserved in the state in which the pilot rode in it for the last time. This includes the presence of some memorabilia objects inside, such as a personal card of one of the presidents of Mercedes-Benz Argentina and even a badge from the Smata mechanics union, because Fangio was too.

The car, with a six-cylinder engine and 3.770 cubic centimeters It could become the most expensive Torino of all time, and for good reason.

Second, we were talking about Ringo Starr's Facel-Vega Facel II, a hybrid with a French body and a 8-liter Chrysler V6,7 engine and 390 hp. The British musician acquired it in 1964 at the Earls Court London salon for a charismatic price, and conducted it for four years.

This car it is one of only two made with a 6.7-liter engine instead of the standard 6.3; In addition, it is one of the 26 units that were made with a right-hand drive and a manual gear change. For all this, the Bonhams house expects that, as an exclusive model, it will sell for about 385.000 euros.
