As we anticipated in these same pages on September 26, the 40th edition of Rétromobile will be celebrated with a special event dedicated to Pegasus. We now know more details that will be of interest to our readers who are preparing to visit the Porte de Versailles Exhibition Park from February 4 to 8, 2015.
The 40th anniversary of Rétromobile will coincide with the 60th anniversary (on average) of the Pegaso sports cars that were presented at the Grand Palais on the Champs-Elysées between 1951 and 1956. It is the historical place where the Paris Motor Show took place from its origins until the transfer to the aforementioned most modern facilities of the Porte de Versailles .
Rétromobile will dedicate to Pegaso a recreation of the historical period in which the first Spanish cars manufactured by ENASA broke international isolation and made it possible to export Pegaso trucks and buses under more favorable conditions, as Pegaso sports cars have spread an image of technology advanced.
Twelve copies
Just as other international exhibitions have been dedicated to Pegaso in places that did not have a historical connection with the brand (Pebble Beach in 1994 and Techno Classica Essen in 2012), at Rétromobile Pegaso is reunited with the first international show where all the brand news.
Although the organizer has not made public the list of participants, we know that 12 cars have been chosen for the Rétromobile exhibition, selected with priority for their direct relationship with the Paris Motor Show, the variety of their geographical location in terms of their places of residence. current and, in some cases, because they are vehicles that have been restored to make their first public appearance after restoration.
Rétromobile's goal It was not the quantity, but the quality. From the orientation of the project, it was not intended to exceed any quantity record with respect to previous exhibitions, which we summarize below as follows:
1- Pebble Beach, 1994: 12 cars in the special class reserved for Pegaso, plus another in the class for cars with Touring bodywork;
2- Center for Contemporary Culture of Barcelona, 2001: 11 cars;
3- Techno Classica Essen, 2012: 16 cars at the Pegaso exhibition (one more at the stand of an independent dealer).

From every corner
Rétromobile has thought more about the interest of visitors and followers of the brand in terms of diversity and characteristics of the vehicles. Regarding its connection with the Paris Motor Show, 4 cars (33%) were presented at the Grand Palais between 1953 and 1955. Regarding the restoration news, 5 cars will finish being restored just in time to go to Rétromobile . Some of them are currently receiving their final touches.
Regarding its geographical location, the variety is excellent: 3 cars from the United States (it will be the first time in history that three Pegasi travel together to Europe in a West-East direction); 2 from Belgium; 1 from Great Britain; 1 from France; 5 from Spain (from three different cities).
The owner of a Spanish Pegasus he intended to drive his vehicle by road to Paris, but it will eventually give up as the engine is still tuning after a full car restoration and you don't want your first outing on the road to be a long drive

The stand will be decorated with historical information about the brand and the characters that participated in its development, in particular the engineer Wifredo Ricart. «La Escudería» has had access to the initial project approach, as well as to the location map of the Pegaso stand.
As complementary information, we have news that two other Pegasos will be exhibited independently: One of them anticipated as a "possibility" due to the good news of Rafael Pueche, a possibility that seems to be confirmed; and another one that will be exhibited at the stand of a British merchant (this last copy, although well known in Spain, will surprise when it is presented with a new painting). We are heading almost certainly to a celebration with the 12 + 2 formula (even prettier, and unpublished, than the 12 + 1 formula).
Rétromobile will have other attractions in its 40.000 square meters dedicated to exhibitions, commemorations and merchants from various countries around the world who will come with about 500 cars.
