The best videos of the 2023 Rallye Monte-Carlo Histórico

The 2023 Historic Monte-Carlo Rally has left us, once again, priceless images of the classics on the snow. And that this has not been the year with the worst weather conditions. The Spanish participants shone less than in previous editions.

El Historic Monte-Carlo Rally 2023 has concentrated the attention of fans of the classics at the end of January, almost as a prelude to the Paris retromobile. Following the evolution of the Spanish crews and enjoying the increasing number of videos that are posted on the Internet is now almost a ritual. And that is exactly what we propose to you.

Although what fans of “Monte” like the most are the videos of the classics in the snow, the truth is that this edition has not been the most complicated in that regard. Yes, there have been more difficulties than in 2020, for example, when the white element did not make an appearance. However, there has been more than one scare, including one for national crews.

WINNERS AND THE SPANIARDS

The winners of this edition have been the Swiss Claudio Enz and Cristina Seeberger, at the controls of a Lancia Fulvia Coupe 1.3S. In second place, we find Ilya Kashin and Boris Kostyrko, in this case with a Volkswagen Scirocco. The Italians Giovanni and Tiziana Chiesa complete the podium with a Giulia Ti 1600. The fourth position of the former driver should be highlighted Bruno saby, with a Ford Capri 2300 S and accompanied by Pascal Serre. The Frenchman won the event in 1988 with a Lancia Delta HF 4WD.

Regarding the Spanish army, things have not finished going well in this Historic Monte-Carlo Rally 2023. The best ranked have been Rafa Fernández Cosín and Julen Martínez-Huarte, thirtieth with their Lancia Fulvia HF 1.6, who we remember that in 2020 were second. The Sagi, Víctor and Víctor Jr., finished in 115th position with a Porsche 911 S 2.0, while Juan and Álvaro Rollán were 127th.os with their 911 T. José Antonio Villalba and Jorge Saiz took their Mercedes 280 to 131st position. In 171st position they finished the former Champion of Spain, Louis Climent, accompanied by Víctor Buades in his BMW 323i. After a hesitant start, he finished in great shape, even scoring stage 13.

Still in the top 200, Ernesto Hernandez and Fernando Zapatero they went to position 192 with their Renault 5 TS, while Esteban Munne and Olga Feliu they finished two positions behind with a SEAT 124 Especial 2000. Just in position 200 we find the Andorran Antonio Arderiu and Luis Góngora with their Autobianchi A112 Abarth. The Saab 99 GL of Roberto Camilo and José Enrique García Cárceles finished in 223rd place.

In total, only nine Spanish teams have taken part in this 25th edition of the Historic Monte-Carlo. We hope that national participation will recover in future editions.

I am lucky to have turned my passion into my way of earning a living. Since I left the Faculty of Information Sciences in 2004, I have been professionally dedicated to motor journalism. I started in the magazine Coches Clásicos in its beginnings, going on to direct it in 2012, the year in which I also took charge of Clásicos Populares. Throughout these almost two decades of my professional career, I have worked in all types of media, including magazines, radio, the web and television, always in formats and programs related to the engine. I am crazy about the classics, Formula 1 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
