Last Saturday the 24th Jarama Open Doors Day 2023, one of the big days on the Madrid circuit. And it is one of the most crowded events, in which the paddock and the fans come out to roll with their classics. As usual, perfectly organized and synchronized so that all clubs can take to the court on time and without setbacks. Those who left their vehicle in the free parking lot had a bus, also free, to the tunnel entrance.
El paddock It was packed, both with cars and car enthusiasts. There were different spaces where, for example, the cars of the different participating clubs and associations were located, in total almost 40. Among all of them, This year the presence of the Spanish Club Friends of Renault 4/4 was announced, to which we will return later. They drew attention to Peugeot 205,Morgan, Ford Mustang, numerous SEAT 600, all kinds of classic Ford, BMW, Lancia, Alfa Romeo, Fiat Uno, Opel GSi, SEAT 1430 and 124, Mini, Renault 8, Saab or Audi.
Yes, some more automotive stalls were missed, since there were only three for miniatures and one for components. In any case, it was a pleasure and for the paddock enjoying all the classics present, such as Lancia Fulvia Zagato or Monte Carlo, the BMW Group 5, the Alfa 33 CET Group A, Simca 1000 Rally and a very long etcetera. In short, cars that one does not have the opportunity to see every day.
Special mention of RACE Cultural Foundation Museum, which is open throughout the day and is well worth a visit, as it allows you to enjoy a whole collection of different automobiles manufactured in Spain.
70TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE RENAULT 4/4
Nothing less than 50 units of the Renault 4CV They met at the Jarama Circuit to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the start of its production in Spain. In this way, the popular 4/4 - nickname it received in Spain for its four doors and four seats - became the first Renault model manufactured in our country. It was a key car in the country's motorization, which is why it was named an Asset of Cultural Interest in 2004.
Regarding the anniversary, it was organized by the always active Club of Friends of the Renault 4/4 of Spain, who managed to exceed all expectations, since we are talking about one of the largest concentrations of this model made in our country. Additionally, a group photo on the main straight of the Jarama Circuit to immortalize the moment. The rest of the day, the Renault 4CVs were parked in a specific space of more than 1.000 m.2.
Owners from all over Spain attended the call, from Andalusia to Asturias, passing through Cantabria, the two Castiles, Catalonia, Extremadura, Murcia and the Valencian Community.
