Cinema Cars Museum

Recientemente we announced the opening of a new museum dedicated to the automotive industry in Spain: the Cinema Cars Museum - Vicente Pavía Collection. On that occasion we promised a more detailed visit to be able to offer a complete report, which now comes in video form.

In this documentary, Vicente Pavía himself makes us guide commenting on some curiosities of the space and of some cars exhibited there.

This museum, located in the town of Yuncos, halfway between Madrid and Toledo, was inaugurated in April 2013. Over time, what at first was a hobby, has become a family business consisting of offering service to the audiovisual sector -cinema, television and advertising- renting the vehicles of the collection, at the same time that it is made available to the general public in the form of a permanent exhibition.

The museum is not only offered as cultural heritage, but also as a commercial space to carry out advertising activities and business events. Likewise, cars can also be rented for special occasions, with which, on the one hand, the History of the motor is disseminated and, on the other, an economic return is obtained with which to cover the expenses generated by the institution.

Vicente Pavía began to relate to the cinema with the film "Bicycles are for the summer", by Jaime Chavarri, in 1983. Other titles are "Blind Sunflowers"by José Luis Cuerda; "Merry-go-round C.1950"by José Luis Garci; "Return", "Broken Embraces" y "Bad Education"by Pedro Almodóvar; «The great adventure of Mortadelo and Filemón»by Guillermo Fesser; and the most recent "Paper birds", by Emilio Aragón, or "Sad trumpet ballad", by Álex de la Iglesia, to give some examples.

Current television series in which we can also see their vehicles are «To love in troubled times», "The Republic", "Mrs""The time between seams", «The secret of Puente Viejo» o "Love is forever".

The opening hours of the Cinema Cars Museum It is on weekends, Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 18:00 p.m. Groups by appointment all week. Ticket price: Adults, € 7 - Children from 7 to 12 years, € 5 - Under 7 years, free.
