Legoland Germany

On Saturday we got up a little early, at 8:30 we would meet the members of the trip - big and small - in the breakfast room of the hotel. After a European breakfast, we left at 9:00 for Legoland. Furgo, GPS and an hour later we arrived at the parking lot of the enclosure; all very German, perfectly indicated and organized.

As we already had our homework done, we went with the tickets in hand and we only had to show them to enter. Given how hard this type of park is usually for the little ones, this time we take the trolleys with us, you know, in case they needed to recharge.

The first thing we did was see the central area, in which there are various reproductions of cities (!). It's just amazing, you can see Venice, Berlin, Hamburg or Fussen Castle… or also typical LEGO themes like Star Wars. All with cars, trucks, boats, planes and figurines of the brand that roam the stages. Something of the most entertaining, you can spend hours and hours there but fortunately the children do not have so much patience and after an hour they already wanted to go to get on the attractions, which of course we did.

Legoland It is similar to other parks that we can find on our bull's skin; What's more, it is even small, although it is worth going simply because of what you see at the entrance and because, in short, the kids have a great time. For my part I will say that I got on together with my brother in an attraction that consists of sitting on board of a KUKA Robot of the fat men so that I wiggled you. It was a fantastic experience.

At 17:30 p.m. it was already quite cold and the little one was defeated, sleeping in the chair; my wife and I took a break and took a break in one of the cafes, where we could taste a magnificent and hot cappuccino with a very good local cake. The evening ended at ten, with a great dinner in one of the restaurants in the center of Stuttgart.

Auto & Technik MUSEUM Speyer

The next morning started like Saturday, although this time our destination was Frankfurt Airport with an intermediate stop at the Speyer Museum. Again we were well on time, it was 10:15 and they had just opened. The first impression upon entering the access hall is that there it's all a little messier, with less consistency than in the Sinsheim Museum.

You are greeted by several pre-war Germans, a World War I triplane hanging on the wall, a locomotive. There are mixed all kinds of classics, mostly German, along with some curious war machines such as two mini-submarines or a suicide torpedo. There is also a good collection of fire trucks and a couple of nice model trains; like amazing classic cars, there are quite a few ...

The exit of this ship places us in a huge outdoor area where we can enjoy contemplating an F-15, an F-18 or getting on a Boing 747 and descending a gigantic slide that will undoubtedly delight children as well as to tire them a little, that it is time.

Then there is also the Antonov for cargo, helicopters, a salvage ship (SAR) or a German submarine from the 80s-90s, whose respective interiors are also accessible. Yes, you read that right, you can enter a real submarine and see how “easy” life on board must be. Next to the ships there is a small maritime museum with some very interesting curiosity.

It was dangerously close to Teutonic lunchtime (12: 30-13: 00) and we had not yet seen the museum's central attraction, the Russian space shuttle Burán. So we unanimously decided to finish visiting the museum to head to the airport and eat there; yes, giving our children an intermediate lunch that our intelligent women had prepared.

From the forecourt there is access to the Edificio del Espacio. Simply magnificent can be described that, not by the amount of gadgets that are there but by the clarity, spaciousness, correct presentation and explanation of each piece. As we enter the first thing we see is the huge Burán. "It looks like LEGO," says my wife upon entering, and the fact is that the ceramic "Bricks" that serve as a heat shield give it that peculiar look.

Heading into outer space

In the right area of the ship, information and reproductions of the International Space Station, various satellites, Russian and European capsules, suits and peculiarities of life on board. In the rear left area there is a 1: 1 scale reproduction of an Apollo mission to the moon, possibly 15 or 16, in which the lunar rover "Rover" was used. Very interesting and constructive, besides being something that will mark our children and it will give us a foothold to put new concerns into their little heads.

Under the lazy Burán, neither more nor less than a spectacular Mercedes 500 K Erdmann-Rossi from 1936, a dream. On the left side a fantastic collection of pre-war Rolls and between 10 and 20 Münch motorcycles in a mini-museum dedicated to this German brand created by the great Friedl Münch, who passed away this year and made famous by creations such as the Mammouth 4 , incredible motorcycle with a 1200 engine from the NSU TTS.

For bikers, the exhibition continues in a couple of corridors located on the upper floors, where you can admire different racing machines, mostly from the 60-70-80-90 years, and also a large exhibition of motorcycle engines.

With no time for much else, at 14:30 we left Speyer to arrive at Frankfurt Airport an hour later. Food according to Spanish schedule at 16:00 p.m. ... is the advantage of going to a large airport, that you eat at the time you want. Finally, to wait a couple of hours for boarding, a moment that is used by our long-suffering wives to make some purchases, undoubtedly necessary, and for us to enjoy seeing the huge A-380 in the company of our little ones.
