The 2013 Automotive Heritage Days, announced by the Spanish Federation of Antique Vehicles -FEVA- at the end of last July, will take place during the next days 21 and 22 September. These have a dual purpose: on the one hand, they aim to celebrate in style and at the national level classic vehicles of all kinds; and, on the other, to carry out a show of force in the face of Public Administrations that highlights how much the fans contribute to society. And it is that, as we know, our old irons they are all a historical testimony.
Unfortunately, and although FEVA has performed excellently in other tasks such as the allegations to the 2013-2016 AIRE Plan - even achieving a letter from the highest environmental authority of our country in which it is recognized that old vehicles are not part of the pollution problem -, the truth is that the federation has called these days late, with only two months in advance, when the majority of clubs and associations already They had their activity calendars for the end of summer closed.
Nobody is perfect and we know that it is impossible to be in everything, so we would like to propose as a solution for future editions to set a fixed date, like for example the third weekend of September. We are sure that, knowing what to expect, the impact of the party would multiply exponentially.
Perhaps this has been his only error, which has also been tried to correct through the symbolic extension of the event to the entire current month. From The Escudería We cannot fail to applaud, among other things, the fact that the conference has been given a solidarity character, for which the proceeds from the sale of identification numbers at the price of 1 euro will be donated in full to Cáritas Española.
The clubs and associations affiliated to FEVA they can order how many numbers they need, so that the activities carried out during the month of September - preferably on the weekend of the 21st and 22nd - fall within the great national concentration. For their part, some individuals may acquire them individually in the museums attached to the federation: Museum of the motorcycle of Bassella, Museum of the Motorcycle of Barcelona, Museum of Vall de Guadalet, Museum of Melilla, Museum of Automotive History of Salamanca and Col. lecció Salvador Claret, who will sell 50 plates at the same price.
Not one more, not one less. From here it also occurs to us that perhaps the tap could be opened a little more in this sense; that is, to increase this amount so that those fans who wish to can buy them and advertise the event during the months prior to its celebration, when taking their classic vehicles for a walk. Of course, it is something to wear to a gala and, for this purpose, it would be very interesting to have, in addition to numbers, stickers, much more usable.
Finally, and after contributing our grain of sand, we encourage all fans to strongly support the Heritage Days, both this year and those to come. They give a good image but, above all, they unite us.
