This weekend: Retromóvil Madrid

Retromóvi Madrid will take place between November 26 and 28 in Hall 10 of IFEMA. We are already as who says in the chapel, so below we offer you a brief summary of everything good, beautiful and varied that you can enjoy in the living room.

TEXT: RETROMÓVIL MADRID

Firstly, our Elegance Contests, which we haven't mentioned so far. In 2021, around 20 jewels of four wheels will compete, among which it is worth highlighting a Lagonda 4.5 Liter from 1933, a Buick Van den Plas Convertible from 1937 ex-Franco's government, an Aston-Martin DB4, a Jensen Interceptor or a Ferrari Daytona . Also, as usual for a few years, there will be motorcycle competition, among which we can admire a 1920 Indian PowerPlus, a 12 BMW R1937 or a 1965 racing Harley, among others.

Second, we have already spoken to you from Amilcar; but it is true that the monographic exhibition that we have prepared is going to be unique in its approach: nothing more and nothing less than 10 cyclecares among which there will be no lack of units with showy stern bodies from the 20s or small CGS cars. If you were ever curious about this legendary French brand, it is an unrepeatable opportunity to taste it live.

On the other hand, the gala audacity will be answered by the British: And it is that we will celebrate the 60th birthday Jaguar E-Type in style. Just remember that the 'shoe', as we affectionately know it in Spain, was a revolutionary bet of the English brand and has been and continues to be one of the most beautiful cars in the world. We will celebrate it with a stand that will include its different coupe, convertible and 2 + 2 variants, with 6 and 12-cylinder engines.

steal, for its part, it has always followed in the wake of the great English sports cars. For this reason, the Spanish brand, unique in its kind, has chosen our fair to present its latest creation, the fruit of three decades of experience. It is about the Hurtan Grand Albaycín, whose makers will teach us in their space at 13:30 p.m. on Saturday.

And, still within the international scene, we will go from the classic lines to the more futuristic ones: The Delorean DMC-12, undisputed protagonist of the film saga 'Return to the future' and whose own story is from a movie turns 40. We will celebrate it with a space run by its owners club that will display several copies in perfect magazine condition.

SEAT, MOTO GUZZI AND ADRIÁN CAMPOS

At the national level, SEAT takes the cake this year: The show will feature a large sample of Formula 1430, a championship whose free-design cars beat thanks to the popular 1430 mechanics supplied from the Free Trade Zone. Not a few Spanish pilots made their first steps here, since it was intended to be a shuttle for the higher categories. Among them Adrián Campos, whom we will talk about a little later.

SEAT's presence will be magnified by the display of ten units from the private collection 'SEAT on the road'. Among these, there will be rarities such as a 1400 Serra, a Siata Formichetta, a 124 FL90 or an Ibiza Cabriolet. Finally with regard to our national banner, the Club 1430, 124 and 124 Sport will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a stand full of cars and a massive gathering on Saturday morning in the parking lot for classics, which will be accompanied by another of 600's.

We will also celebrate legendary motorcycle brands, such as the centenary of Moto Guzzi. It's hard to choose what to say about the Eagles, that have been everything: From the most humble mopeds to the most dazzling competition motorcycles, passing through the most attractive touring machines on the market. One of the great 'made in Italy' brands that today remains undoubtedly strong and that, let's not forget, like Ducati and MV Agusta, we produce under license in our country.

Returning the figure of Adrián Campos, sadly passed away in early 2021, we have a very special tribute planned. Together with his family, we have prepared a stand that will contain several of the racing cars and personal belongings of which he was the promoter of Spanish drivers such as Fernando Alonso or Marc Gené. True father of national talent, and the third Spanish driver to compete in Formula 1, his legacy will continue thanks to Campos Racing and his sons, who will speak to us on Saturday at 12:30 pm.

And near the show on Adrián Campos you will find the somewhat unusual space of another pilot. Its about Beny Fernández stand, Vigo rally ace during the 70s and 80s who today merges his passion together with his other two great hobbies: gastronomy and art. In its domains we will find from racing cars and automobilia to sculptures or paintings by Manu Campa, among others. Oh and Marcos Puhinger will be painting live throughout the weekend!

A GREAT MARKET FOR CLASSICS

Hundreds of vintage vehicles will be on sale at Retromóvil Madrid. Not only on display in the spaces of the buying and selling businesses, but also in the private area set up for this purpose. In this we will gather machines with at least thirty years old eager to find a new father (or mother!), Always in accordance with rigorous selection criteria.

Sales area between individuals, in previous editions

Special mention should the great auction of classics that we have coordinated in collaboration with Catawiki. In the large stand of the European auction house, the different examples to bid on can be examined, exhibiting interesting cars such as a Rolls Phantom II, an Alfa Giulia SS, a Ferrari 250 or a Seat corroded by our beloved Pedro Serra.

AUTOMOBILY AREA AND PARKING FOR CLASSICS

What would our fair be without fat. That is why we always reserve a large space for spare parts in what we call the Automobilia area. The suppliers of accessories, tools, books, magazines and other documentation also meet here; and miniatures, furniture, clothes vintage and all kinds of additional products and accessories with fan clubs.

In the Automobilia Zone

Likewise, the parallel room that takes place in the parking for classics. In this we will receive throughout the weekend old vehicles that can enjoy free parking as long as they are at least 30 years old and their occupants present at the entrance the tickets for the room that they have purchased in advance. Just remind you that the access door is the North.

In the parking lot for old irons will also occur club rallies that are planned: On Saturday morning of Seat 600 and 124, 124 Sport and 1430. On Sunday, Chanoe will bring a convoy of American vehicles, both two and four wheels, and several dozen Mercedes SLKs will gather, youngtimer which is certainly already collectible. From experience all these meetings, both spontaneous and organized, will probably be massive.

A DEBATE: MOTOR EVENTS FORUM

Our hobby is not lived individually. Rather, it consists of the constant exchange between enthusiasts of impressions and knowledge. That is why we cannot fail to assign a space of its own to the debate. This is the Motor Events Forum, in which, throughout the weekend, such interesting and controversial topics will be discussed today, such as the future of classic vehicle mobility. This important talk coordinated by the Spanish Federation of Antique Vehicles (FEVA) will take place on Saturday at 16:00 p.m.

The same Saturday will also take place the presentation of two books: "The beginnings of the Automobile in Spain", written by the renowned historian Pablo Gimeno; and "100 Years of BMW Motorrad", by Gustavo Cuervo, Luis Carlos Alcoba and Juan Pedro de la Torre.
