From November 13 to 15, the fifth edition of Retroclásica Bilbao 2015 was held at the Bilbao Exhibition Center.
The organization has been involved in the event promoting the space offered. Has happened to occupy three pavilions instead of the only one that had been used in previous editions. This supposes an exhibition space of about 20.000 square meters and more than 150 exhibitors.
This was the year of anniversaries and tributes. On the one hand, the BMW Serie 3 had a special role for its 40º anniversary. This vehicle has been the most sold by BMW and has marked an era in the German company.
But this model was not the only one celebrating his birthday. The famous Citroen DS, popularly known for "shark" and the first to have disc brakes, meet 60 years and it also had an important presence in the exhibition with family or cabriolet models.
We could also see a curious sample of versions produced on the basis of the SEAT 600. Among them, a SEAT 600 Beach commissioned by Meliá Hotels when the first tourists began to arrive in Spain. A model of which 50 units were made and of which only 5 remain.
Two buggies; one made at the Escuela Superior de Ingenieros de Logroño in 1965, and another manufactured in Sabadell called Diversport Drac (of which 12 of the 70 that were manufactured), as well as a Rany made in Chipiona and a Siata CH400 Pick Up of which only 211 units were manufactured.
In addition, in this first pavilion there were jewels such as the Jaguar E type Low Drag, the Porsche 356, the Jaguar XK140 or the Mercedes Pagoda, among others.
Hall 5 was reserved for all attendees with classic vehicles over 25 years old (some later slipping, yes). In it, simple and popular cars such as the Renault 5, the Seat 127, the Simca 1000 ... and true treasures such as a national Pontiac Firebird, an Alfa Romeo Giulia, a Sava Pegaso Cosmos, etc. were seen. We were even able to enjoy curiosities such as a Dyane 6 Van coming from Australia!
In the third pavilion there were driving exhibitions at the III Retroclásica Motor Show in Bilbao.
We cannot forget the commercial nature of the event with the sale of vehicles between individuals, spare parts, restoration, merchandising or miniatures.
Ultimately, exit both public and assessment that the sixth edition is already preparing. We'll be there!
