FASA Alpine A110: Not one, but two

Improbably, 2 lost Alpine A110s have been found within weeks of each other by the same person!

The cars were found in central Spain and acquired by Classic Cars Jarama, and both represent interesting additions to surviving FASA-built Alpines.

The first to be found is the blue 1971 1300, which appears to be the second 1300 produced in Valladolid. This is the most desirable specification for a Spanish A110 and the car is complete and ready for restoration.

Found near Madrid by CCJ's Paco Pareja, the car was still sitting on its trailer, as left 30 years ago when the engine reportedly blew up in a hillclimb.

The engine is still with the car, and although the car wears typically tasteless 1980s Gp4 style flares and spoilers, these are just riveted to the original glass fiber, so will be removed in the course of the complete restoration which Classic Cars Jarama will give to the car.

All of the original trim, instruments and parts came with the car, which is in basically good shape and ready to be restored to the Pata Negra which it is!

The second car is earlier and possibly rarer, a 1967 A110 1100. One of 528 examples built by FASA between 1967 and 1971 this very early car was literally found in a barn only 20kms from the Renault factory in Vallodalid.

Fitted with the 1100 engine and equipment from a Renault R8 of the time, this car is obviously complete and original. It has been waiting stored for many years, but will also receive a full concours rebuild by Classic Cars Jarama.

Classic Cars Jarama will be happy to commission a restoration to customer specification on either of these rare Alpines. If this is of interest, please contact: [email protected] for more detail.
