The Petroliciuos Videos: Lamborghini Espada

Last Thursday I received the authorization that will allow me, at last, to be able to show you the videos of Petrolicious. Although some of you probably already know it, it is a means of communication in the form of a website that since the end of 2012 has tried to gain a foothold in the crowded market of Anglo-Saxon digital publications dedicated to vintage vehicles.

The main argument used by those responsible to achieve it are audiovisual materials, photography and video, With those who have largely already reached the goal: Petrolicious currently receives tens of thousands of visits per month.

Apart from its magnificent films, in which they will make you enjoy the passion distilled by classic car owners and mechanics, this website offers other sections that are difficult to classify but which in any case are worth taking a good look at. It is made by and for amateurs.

Yes, in English -at least in one of its facets-, and in English. However, those readers who do not speak the language of Shakespeare should not feel left out, since shortly it is planned to subtitle the videos in Spanish and, in the meantime, I will tell you in detail what they are about.

In any case, this first contact will not be necessary.

The Rolls of Ferruccio

I have chosen the header piece on a Lamborghini Espada that runs through what I think are some Californian mountains. Nobody says anything in it, we just see a concentrated and funny owner driving his monstrous four-seater coupe while the 12cc 3.929hp V350 designed by Bizarrini and tuned by Lamborghini's early chief engineer, Gianpaolo Dallara, put on the symphony.

A Lambo with four seats? Indeed, and indeed, with space for four adults of average height to travel comfortably. Those of Sant Agata Bolognese have not dared with this configuration again, and that apparently -Gavin Green, among others- the Espada goes like silk on all types of roads, including urban ones.

Versatile, powerful and with excellent dynamic behavior, it is nonetheless an Italian sports car that must be cared for delicately and that has that personality that today, with the synergies and business economies of scale, has been lost. This is not only demonstrated by its concept and its engine, but also by all those little details that Italians have historically not paid much attention to. And it is that, after all, perhaps they are not so important ...

I leave you with this bull dressed as Bertone of which, between 1968 and 1978, some 900 units were built. Courtesy of Petrolicious.

What do you think?
