The XXI edition of Amelia Island Contest of Elegance (USA) will have a special category for rare and exotic Pegasus Z-102. The date that enthusiasts of these Spanish classics should mark on their calendar is March 13, 2016; that day, around 10% of the production - between 8 and 10 units - will participate in one of the most important elegance competitions in the world.
And it is that during these last years we have witnessed an appreciation of the winged horse sports in every way, with even special displays such as the monographic exhibition organized in the past Retromòbile from Paris. After seeing them also in a prominent role in the Villa d 'Este Elegance Contest and from analyzing their quotes we could safely say that the "Pegasines" are trendy…
And from our point of view they deserve it: Designed and produced in a time of tremendous economic scarcity, the Pegasus Z-102 they fulfilled, for better or for worse, with the task of putting Spanish industry in the sight of the rest of the world; Most of all, they taught a generation of automotive technicians and operators what precision car manufacturing was all about. Nothing better to assemble the robust trucks of the same brand that would later industrialize the country.
From "La Escudería" we will carefully follow the evolution of the future exhibition of the Amelia Island Contest of Elegance, which, along with Pebble Beach, is the most important in the American continent.
