All Pegaso Z-102 auctioned in the last ten years

Despite its low production, the Pegaso Z-102 is recurrent in international auctions. We review the evolution of their prices in the last decade.

Despite not having even reached 90 units produced, the Pegaso Z-102 usually appears recurrently in front-line auctions. What's more, on January 26, RM Sotheby's offered the chassis 153.0113 in the U.S. A most interesting unit. Not only for having served ENASA as a development vehicle, but also for being one of those in which supercharging was played with in order to improve the model's power. Definitely, an especially interesting piece for any collector eager to own one of these rare and so original Pegasus.

However, the bid was deserted. In this way, despite having an expectation marked between 550.000 and 650.000 dollars, this unit failed to change hands. Something that, on the other hand, is not the first time that has happened with a Z-102 in recent years. What's more, last 2019 there was also no awarding of a Berlinetta Series II bodyworked by Touring. A destination shared with the one presented at Amelia Island 2017 by Gooding & Company. Dressed by Saoutchik and that, despite raising the forecasts up to 800.000 dollars, she finally ended up with her bid deserted.

STABILIZED QUOTES

In fact, in this non-awarded section, the one that most attracts attention is the one offered in 2013 by RM Sotheby's. Precisely also on Amelia Island and which, still estimated by the Canadian house at more than 1.250.000 dollars, finally remained unsold. So things, in the history of the last decade we see a clear downward trend even within the high prices of this very specific model. Something shared with other models that, after having reached prices that are not logical, are landing on much more realistic ground.

And it is that, as in everything subject to the law of the market, speculation plays as one more variable when it comes to raising or lowering prices. A fact that is especially visible in high-end collection cars. Not infrequently used as an investment or shelter value instead of being acquired by truly passionate collectors. In the end, be that as it may, Here we present the history of the Pegaso Z-102 units auctioned in the last ten years.
