New MINI Remastered: back to the roots

MINIAs part of the BMW conglomerate, it has been able to adapt to the demands of the international market. In a global market where the demand in terms of performance and size is increasing and varied, the British brand has ended up betting on leaving in the background the care of the original lines that differentiated it and made it what it is today.

In response to this phenomenon, the artisans of David Brown Automotive presented their mini-remastered on April 6. It is a return to the essence of the first MINIs, without depriving itself of the technology and comforts most typical of the current century.

This modern reinterpretation of the MINI will rescue elements as characteristic as the “mini wheels”Of 12 inches, without forgetting the bodywork (bumpers included) in the image and likeness of the classic model. With more than 100 hours of work by hand per car, this work of craftsmanship has somewhat more stylized lines on its bodywork and panels that enhance its finish.

Among the materials for its manufacture we can find aluminum, wood and leather, all of the first category. Inside the cabin, comfort and state-of-the-art technology take center stage: LCD screens, integrated navigation system with a seven-inch color screen, Apple Car Play, Android Auto, push-button start… In short, everything you need to survive the information age, and even enjoy it on the back of a British car disguised as a classic.

A little expensive Mini Remastered?

The MINI Remastered will be available for purchase from U.S. dollar 75.000 (70.000 euros), being able to become even more expensive according to purchase preferences. For that amount, many would consider buying 7 Minis from the 90s, of those manufactured by Rover; It is somewhat expensive, others will think, but according to its exclusivity and preparation ... The truth is that a server would think twice before investing so much money in this MINI.

Its engine is the mythical 1.275, having doubled its power until reaching the 90 CV and with an old-fashioned four-speed manual gearbox, specially designed to optimize performance.

What do you think?
