The current shield, which dates from 1952, has been updated over the years, always preserving its essence and being easily recognizable. The proposal, conveniently noted by Ferry, was to include the letters Porsche with the Stuttgart shield or something similar on the steering wheel.

Finally, the author of the original logo of the brand was the Austrian artist Franz Xaver Reimspiess, who sketched a first version at the beginning of 1952. It is believed that Reimspiess would also be responsible for the Volkswagen emblem, although some attribute it to Nikolai Borg or Martin Freyer.

THE ORIGINAL LOGO

One of its main elements is the rampant horse that goes in the center, and that has its origin in the seal of the city of Stuttgart. Furthermore, both the red and black colors as antlers of certain, come from the traditional coat of arms of Württemberg-Hohenzollern, a historical state of West Germany. Crowning the emblem, the Porsche lettering rounded out a badge that would become famous throughout the world.
