Mega Barn Find In The South Of France With Miura P400S Included

PHOTOS MEGABARNFIND FRANCE: INTERECHÈRES

Who else who has least ever pulled out his explorer's vein to find interesting finds. An Alpine abandoned in a Malaga farm. A Pontiac in the middle of the meadow. Even Some are still looking for Joe Strummer's Dodge 3700 GT... But what is weirder is to run into 81 abandoned classics in the middle of a warehouse where there is hardly any difference between the vegetal and the rusty. This is what happened a few weeks ago in an unconfirmed point in the south of France.

Neither more nor less than more than 80 classics classified in a fork that goes from a humble Trabant to a Lamborghini Miura. It seems hard to believe, but it is true. So true that the auction house interechères it has been done with the entire batch to start marketing it. Seen like this you will say ... What a hurry they have been! But, from what it seems, beyond the dust and branches that we can see in the video, the cars are in a very good state of repair.

In fact, the star of the collection has just been sold: the Lamborghini Miura P400S. This is the second of the five series, with only 140 units manufactured between 1969 and 1971 and a power of 20 more horsepower compared to the first version. An unexpected gem that the market has received with a not inconsiderable figure of 560.000 euros. And it's just the beginning ...

A TREASURE NEXT TO THE SPANISH BORDER

Very little has been known about this finding. Geographically we do not know the exact place, but it was in the south of the Gallic country. In fact it has been so far south that the Interchères auction house is located in Tarbes, a small town in the department of the Hautes Pyrenees, not many kilometers from the border with Navarra. And well, the truth is that we would like to have more data because… Who can leave such a collection forgotten?

The aforementioned Miura has been found in the find, but also such iconic sports as 1964 Jaguar E-Type Series I in gold color or a 3 Corvette C1981. And that's not to mention a very rare Porsche 356 Pre-A, the first version of the model idolized as a relic among the brand's followers. A unit that has a bump on the left side of the front, which is why it was surely stopped waiting for a simple sheet metal and paint repair that never arrived.

Of all the vehicles with the highest value of this find, this seems to be the one in the worst condition. For all we know the Miura started easily, this one ... You probably need a good tune-up on your engine to rev it up.

By the way, whoever was the collector of all this had a very broad vision. Apart from these high-end models we also find classics that are difficult to see but more accessible as various second, fourth and fifth generation Lincoln Continentals. A good string of Americans - there are also several Oldsmobile, Cadillac and Chrysler - that is accompanied by copies of the interesting GT lancia flaminia. And if you like the popular ones… There is also!

R5, C15 AND UTILITARIES ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STEEL CURTAIN

From what appears in the background of the photographs provided by the auction house there are quite a few popular French. Come on, if you are looking for an R5 for your town rally or a C15 to take it to surprising heights of competitiveness the same is your expected occasion.

In addition we have also signed a Trabant -It is not easy to buy one in Spanish territory or near the border- and browsing the Interechères website ... Two mountain huts! The Miura it has escaped us, Wow, but with the Trabant and the mountain huts a life opens up to us "The last survivor".

What do you think?

Through the news from La Escudería, we will travel the winding roads of Maranello listening to the roar of the Italian V12; We will travel Route66 in search of the power of the great American engines; we will get lost in the narrow English lanes tracking the elegance of their sports cars; We will speed up the braking in the curves of the Monte Carlo Rally and we will even get dusty in a garage while rescuing lost jewels.
