The Art of Parking A Countach

If you've ever had one by your side, you will always remember. The Lamborghini Countach leaves no one indifferent; It is the typical car that you either love or hate. Like all Lamborghini ... Always with such a daring and at times exaggerated aesthetic that is precisely what generates both affinity and rejection.

Sinatra understood it very well: 'Who wants to be someone buys a Ferrari, who already is someone has a Lamborghini '. Go ahead that, although it is difficult for us to go against the great Frank in something, we do not subscribe the appointment; but there is something that we do share: only when you are really sure of yourself do you ignore the 'what they will say' and you act without complexes. And for us that is the aesthetic philosophy of Lamborghini. What happens is that, amid so much special character ... sometimes the practical is conspicuous by its absence. We will check it later, but first let's see the model in detail.

DRIVING IN THE SHORT DISTANCES

However Anglo-Saxon the term may seem, 'countach!' comes from the dialect of Piamote. It's an expression of pleasant surprise, and it's just the word he used. Nuccio Bertone when he looked at the prototype body that they were developing for Lamborghini. The anecdote was so talked about that in the end the car kept the name. And yes, it is justified. But if there is something that surprises us whenever we see a Countach, it is its height.

With an angular futuristic design designed to cut the wind, the driver who dares with such a sports car needs good flexibility to access a cabin where they will be boxed in, prepared for speed. How could it be otherwise, the Countach handles like a fish in water on all types of roads but… What happens in short distances? There things change ...

PARKING A LAMBORGHINI COUNTACH

When commenting on a car equipped with a 12-cylinder engine with almost 400 HP, the least interesting thing is to talk about how to park, although this is certainly novel. When you stop driving, you have to park it as if it were a simple utility vehicle. The downside is that it is not practical: the rear window is almost non-existent, so the rear field of view is reduced to a minimum.

In the video that we insert below you will be able to see that, if to squeeze it you have to be without a doubt a pilot, to park it you have to be a contortionist. Half body out ... cheek resting on the body ... make use of the engine torque ... and be careful not to destroy the underbody against the curb. It is clear that it is not easy to drive in short distances but ... Who cares when you are holding the wheel of one of the most exciting Lamborghini in history?

What do you think?

Through the news from La Escudería, we will travel the winding roads of Maranello listening to the roar of the Italian V12; We will travel Route66 in search of the power of the great American engines; we will get lost in the narrow English lanes tracking the elegance of their sports cars; We will speed up the braking in the curves of the Monte Carlo Rally and we will even get dusty in a garage while rescuing lost jewels.
