La Retroclassical Bilbao 2024 returns to the Bilbao Exhibition Centre (BEC) facilities to celebrate its 13th edition. The most important classic vehicle and motorcycle fair in the north of the peninsula will take place next November 15, 16 and 17Over the years, it has established itself as one of the favourite meeting points for classic car enthusiasts and promises a varied programme and a top-class exhibition.
The contest will take place in the BEC Hall 5 and will give fans the opportunity to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of classic vehicles and motorcycles. With more than 100 exhibitors, the Retroclásica Bilbao 2024 will offer a unique space, enriched with anniversary celebrations, gatherings, talks and much more, contributing to the dynamic ecosystem of classic motor racing.
CITROËN PARTY
The Euskadiko Citroenaren Lagunak will celebrate the 90th anniversary of Citroen Traction AvantFor them, it will present a wide exhibition of the vehicles that marked a milestone in the history of the automobile, images of its official presentation in 1934, promotional posters used in the year of launch, audiovisuals and objects of the time.
In addition, the centenary of the first ascent of Mount Gorbea by car, a feat carried out by a Citroen 5CV, which had a significant social impact at the time. In addition to the presence of the vehicle featured in the event, there will be a display of retrospective videos and images showing the development of that first ascent to the summit of Gorbea. Other motoring feats carried out with the same car will also be recalled.
To further embellish the hundred years of this event, a presentation will be held called “1st Ascent to Mount Gorbea by car and other automotive feats carried out with the same vehicle”. It will be attended by Javier Alava, son of the person who carried out the ascents in 1924 and 1966. He also made the last ascent of Gorbea in 2016 with the same car.
TRIBUTE TO MARCELLO GANDINI AT THE BILBAO 2024 RETROCLÁSICA
Born in Italy in 1938, designer Marcello Gandini was known for his work at Bertone and its influence on the creation of supercars. Among his most iconic works It is worth highlighting the Lamborghini Miura y Countach, models that revolutionized the design of sports cars, especially the first one.
Gandini was also responsible for the design of other very memorable models such as the Lancia Stratos, Citroen BX, Alfa Romeo Montreal, BMW 5 Series, Ferrari Dino 308 GT4, Fiat X1/9 or Renault supercinco. And the Italian designer has always demonstrated his incredible versatility and ability to adapt to different brands and styles. Several of these models will be present at a stand tribute at the Bilbao 2024 Retroclásica after his recent death.
In addition, the Plentziaclassic club will present a space dedicated to Kawasaki, one of the most iconic motorcycle brands in history. There will also be a tribute to the historic relationship between the Bilbao Fair and the world of automobiles which will be completed over three years. This first phase of the commemoration spans from 1933 to 1945. Another of the great novelties of this XIII edition will be the Forum Events Motor, an essential meeting point, where presentations, debates, lectures and launches of new models and products will be held.
CLASSIC CAR PARKING AND TICKETS
The classic car parking will be another of the attractions of Retroclásica Bilbao 2024, reserved for Cars and motorcycles with historic registration or more than 30 years old. To park in this space you must purchase a specific ticket. In addition, a space has also been reserved for pre-classic cars, which will have a special pavilion for vehicles between 25 and 30 years old.
Regarding the tickets, The normal one costs 10 euros and is valid for one day.. If we want to access the three days of the show, we can buy a special ticket for 24 euros (only available at the box office). Children up to 10 years old enter for free. The Retroclassic will open its doors on Friday, November 15 at 16:00 p.m. and until 20:00. The opening hours on Saturday 16 will be from 10:00 to 21:00, while on Sunday it will close one hour earlier, that is, at 20:00.
