Last Tuesday, March 28, the Italian police dismantled a plot whose objective was to steal the mortal remains of the legendary Enzo Ferrari It is suspected that he was part of a kidnapping for which a criminal gang wanted to ask for a ransom in exchange, as reported Reuters and the Italian media.
Ferrari, founder of the prestigious brand of the prancing horse and pioneer of Formula 1, among many other things, passed away in 1988 at the age of 90. His body is found buried in a family mausoleum in San Cataldo, a small town in Modena near the Ferrari central plant in Maranello.
It was the police of Nuoro, on the island of Sardinia, who discovered the plot during an investigation into drug and arms trafficking in the region.
