Impalada 2015: Hundreds of Impalas in Barcelona

Faithful to the appointment for these dates -and there are already 29 editions- the impala 2015 it began in Montjuïc, the starting point for the last four editions. A huge inflatable in the shape of an Impala tank welcomed the 320 motorcycles and 366 impala drivers who had signed up, narrowly exceeding the 2012 figure, that of the fiftieth anniversary of the Impala ...

The very long mechanical line started shortly after nine o'clock, leaving Montjuïc behind and filling the ring roads of Barcelona with smoke. Soon, the procession would meet the first curves of the climb, in Vallvidrera; Leaving Molins de Rei behind, a first stop in Ullastrell allowed us to regain strength with a good sandwich.

The beautiful landscapes of the Montserrat environment accompanied them to the next stop, the gas station located just before Manresa. Fortunately, the narrow and twisty roads of Pont de Vilomara, Rocafort and Mura, allowed to the Impala move easily and without traffic. In case there were few curves, the route continued to Gallifa and Sant Feliu de Codines, where wider roads were already beginning to be found.

From Japan to the Impalada 2015

The good atmosphere continued during the meal at the Imperial Restaurant in Terrassa, with the usual huddles on the route, motorcycles and friends. Tribute was paid to the Blitz Squad, presenting a plaque to Gregorio García and Miguel Escobosa in recognition of the quality of their creations, a representation of which presided over the dining room.

Two intrepid impalers, Julián de Cabo and José María Dominguez, who had come from Madrid on secondary roads on their motorcycles, took the second trophy. And there was also a recognition for Nobuo Nakamura, a Japanese impaler who regularly uses his Impala in Nagoya. Nobuo had traveled from Munich to Barcelona and there they left him a motorcycle with which to join the delegation. He was impressed: I've never seen so many Impala together!

And as the end of the party, the group went to Museum of Science and Technology of Terrassa, where he was able to admire the Permanyer collection, a good sample of Montesa from all ages. It was a worthy climax to a one hundred percent impalera day, until next year!
