II Concentration of classics in Venturada: Spectacular

On May XNUMX, in the Madrid town of Venturada, fifty kilometers from the capital, the second major concentration organized by the Club Venturada Classics, with his captain Alberto Pérez at the helm.

They cannot be denied a great power of convocation, since the compulsory and free prior registration - through their Facebook page or by email - was closed months before "D" day. The starting list exceeded 400 units ...

However, even if it was not signed up, anyone who wanted to go with their classic vehicle was invited, but in that case a reserved space was not guaranteed in the areas enabled for this purpose. These were distributed by brands throughout the town, except for a carpeted area with a green carpet in the main parking lot, where the most exclusive models were located regardless of their manufacturer.

In addition to being a party dedicated to the historic vehicle, the altruistic nature of the meeting must be highlighted, since it had a solidarity barbecue that raised funds for food banks and thus lend a hand to those who need it in these difficult times.

Back to the past, on a grand scale

The curious and differentiating thing about this concentration with respect to others is the fact that the cars are not all located in the same location, but are distributed throughout the town. That looked like the set of the television series "Tell me"...

It was very gratifying to go for a walk through the Citroen street, turn the corner and meet a few Ford Fiesta, leave the Casa de la Cultura on the right with several Seat Ibiza and Malaga in its garden, or arrive at the The street of the Renault, the popular R4 on the right, the R5 on the left, the Fuego a little further up ... to finally reach the R8 and R10.

In front of the latter were the big Seats, the 124, 1430, 131 and, a little higher, next to the Bar, the 1500. But how! And the 600? Where have you seen a vintage Spanish town without 600? Oh yeah, we left them behind, near the barbecue.

There was also an area dedicated to motorcycles: the arcaded square of the town hall served to house a good sample of nationally manufactured motorcycles; next to it, a small trial circuit was set up with some containers where some exhibitions were held.

Back to the future, fly high

The highlight of the meeting, as we anticipated, was in the large parking lot at the beginning of Venturada. On the green carpet we could see real jewels, some of them of many carats; the star was a mid-eighties Porsche 959, the first supercar of the German manufacturer with which he tried, thanks to his all-wheel drive, to triumph in the world of group B rallying. He had to give up the task after the category was banned in the 1987 season and just settle for a only victory in the Paris-Dakar.

Beside him a By Lorean DMC12 like the one Marty McFly used to travel through time in "Return to the future"; yes, it was missing the flux capacitor and some others Gadgets that appeared in the movie ...

An impressive Aston Martin DB6 Vantage also attended Venturada, with which everyone wanted to be photographed commenting "The James Bond car." One had to bite one's tongue to avoid being pedantic when wanting to add: “The famous car from 007 is a DB5. It looks alike, but it is not the same! "

Along with this was a beautiful black Ferrari 330 GT 2 + 2 from '66 and other more modern horses: a Testarossa, a 328 and a 348. They were accompanied by a muscular 911 Porsche 1974 RSR whose engine emitted heavenly music, some 911 (964) Turbo, a "Japanese Ferrari", the Honda (Akura) NSX; a mighty 200 Packard 1951 Coupe; a '41 Chevrolet; a veteran green Fiat 514 from 29; an Audi Quattro; a striking yellow Alpine A110, and a Saab Sonet III, a very rare Swedish coupe very difficult to see in our geography.

Together with those mentioned and sharing parking but no longer carpeted, we discovered the area of the Porsche, the Mercedes, the BMW, the Alfa Romeo, or the Americans that are never lacking like the Mustang and the Corvette. The curiosities were scattered here and there: a Ford Zodiac of those produced in the United Kingdom, a Saab 96, a Volvo Amazon, a TVR Tasmin, or a Mini Moke, among others.

We can only congratulate the organization for an excellent job and encourage them to continue with this initiative in the future, improving as much as possible; of course they "worked", they have set the bar so high that it will not be an easy task.

We will be attentive for the next call on your Facebook page.
