On March 26 the International Federation of Antique Vehicles -FIVA- announced during the German salon Techno Classica the launch of his second research on the socio-economic impact of the old vehicle in Europe. This is a macro-survey in which he asks for the collaboration of all the continental fans and thanks to which the collected data will be subsequently processed and numerous and important conclusions will be drawn.
Thus, FIVA, through the different national delegations -as is the case of the Spanish FEVA-, has made available to owners of old vehicles, amateur clubs and companies in the sector from fifteen countries the questionnaires that will make it possible to assess in its just measure the current importance of the actors involved in the European love for classic vehicles.
The first FIVA investigation It was carried out in 2004/2005 and its report has been extremely useful to know the profile of amateurs and professionals -needs, concerns, preferences, among others- and to prove the cultural, social and economic significance of the European movement in favor of the old vehicle.
Since then, this report has passed through the hands of thousands of people responsible for making the political decisions that affect our precious vintage vehicles at all levels, from the local to the supranational, thus becoming the fundamental tool at our disposal to its defense and the maintenance of its free movement in cities and highways around the world.
Updated information
After a decade, FIVA has seen fit to update and complete the information; and for the first time it includes Spain in the statistical sample. Therefore, I hope that all owners of an old vehicle know how to value the importance and interest of filling in the questionnaire that you will find by clicking here
Companies and professionals in the sector will be able to fill out theirs using this link.
Finally, club managers must access a questionnaire specially designed for them clicking here.
As you get down to business, please bear in mind that the survey is aimed at enthusiasts of all types of vintage vehicles, from a car to a motorcycle, to a truck, a bus or a tractor; and also that, when talking about historic vehicle, It is made referring to all classic vehicles, whether they have historical registration or not.
It is a good moment
The data to be collected anonymously by the macro-survey is the fuel that FIVA needs to continue its work in favor of the vintage vehicle in Brussels. FEVA also needs them, because it is our interlocutor with the national authorities.
There is a significant number of European Union regulations in the pipeline that will create new challenges, especially for the circulation of historic vehicles on public roads. The more people linked to the vintage vehicle sector participate in this initiative, the greater the probability that specialized national and international institutions will be able to face the challenges of the future.
The little hour that you will dedicate to gather the information that FIVA asks you about the use that you have made of your classics in 2013 or the activity that you have carried out related to them, and to pour it into the different cards will be possibly the best employee of the hundreds or thousands of hours that you have already dedicated to it. Without objectively collected data, it's all worthless guesswork in the world we live in; By facilitating them, we give vital information and, with it, arguments to defend what we believe in.
To finish, remember that We have until June 2 to pitch in!
