Last Sunday we were in the Popular Classic Vehicles Fair of Ávila, where we could see a small but lovingly done fair. This is an event organized practically non-profit and in which the important thing is to spend a couple of hours in a morning or weekend afternoon enjoying the sample exhibited and in the company of mostly well-known faces.
Little by little the old Guadalajara Fair is consolidating in its new location, which offers a covered enclosure as well as a significant tourist attraction. After seeing the classics and buying a spare part or magazine, it is advisable to take a walk around the city to see its old town and, above all, its intact medieval wall; and finish eating in a restaurant of good reputation where they serve us a Castilian stew or an exquisite chelutón from Ávila.
Dear old acquaintances
At the fair we could see a nice selection of popular classics -of those still affordable and that we remember with longing- accompanied by others that are not so popular but that in the current market represent opportunities of the first order. Thus, we delight ourselves with beautiful Seat 600, 124, Renault 12 or Simca 1000 in an impeccable state of restoration.
It was also possible to admire a small Talbot sample and a Volkswagen Golf exhibition in honor of its recent anniversary, as well as various Mercedes, Volkswagen Beetle and the occasional Renault 4/4. The atmosphere was completed with the various motorcycles scattered around the venue, like a fierce Sanglas 400.
They made us special the McCornick International tractor, that looked like in its best times, the BMW E21 Baur Cabriolet that was at the entrance to the left, or the stand full of Vespas of the most apparent in the background. On the other hand, in the center of the fair the Club CX Spain exhibited four examples of bells of this sumptuous French car. Finally, let's not forget the Mercedes de Bomberos that worthily represented the truck union.
Whether it was, some surprises, such as a beautiful Simca Aronde Coupé or a compact Lamborghini Urraco flanked by 600's with colors just as attractive as yours.
