[dropcap] E [/ dropcap] Last weekend the I Historic Vehicles and Old Machinery Fair of Lugo. We went expectantly because, although we knew in advance the local nature of the event, in Galicia there are a lot of fans and excellent collectors who would probably drop by.
And, in part, it was. To begin with, two of the local forces of the province itself, placeauto and Lucense Association of Antique Automobiles, They put up individual stands of bells. The first displayed a selection of BMW 3 Series coupe ranging from a beautiful 2800 CS to an M3 E36, through an E21, a fierce M30 E30 and the odd modern representative. Not in vain is its 40th anniversary and it must be celebrated.

Next to a Bentley they also welcomed a BMW 8 Series and a 2.8 CS

For its part, the Lugo association did not cut a hair either: In its space it displayed cars and motorcycles, Europeans and Americans from various eras and even an Amilcar cyclecar. Among all, the selection of Fiat / Seat sedans made up of a cute Fiat 1100, a Seat 1400 stood out. and a very rare Seat 1400C; Later, an imposing 1923 Lincoln and a 1922 Harley-Davidson, among other interesting specimens, also caught the visitor's attention.
The Lugo classic fair and its tractors
But undoubtedly the most important thing to talk about about the Lugo classics fair is the importance it has attached to. to agricultural machinery, as is the case, for example, of implements and tractors. And it is that a large display that shared space with the aforementioned exhibitors included around 12 tractors of the most diverse brands contributed by the AGAMAC association: Barreiros, Ford, Porsche (there were two!), Renault, David Brown, Massey-Ferguson , Fendt, Lanz, a strange Staub… Some even accompanied their car brothers.
Yes, Ferdinand Porsche also made tractors

Among the agricultural material there was a gas engine under restoration
Some tractors in the exhibition were accompanied by their automotive brothers
A Simca could not be missing next to a Hanomag-Barreiros tractor
But what is that? A strange OM carriage from the 20s ...
The Italian OM all-wheel drive trucks arrived in Spain during the Civil War
Among all that field material, an unconventional machine typical of the region shone with its own light, an OM wagon from the 1920s whose elder sister, if you remember, we spoke a few years ago. Suffice it to say that this cutie already had all-wheel drive then, which went up where it was needed, and that it was manufactured for military purposes in Italy, it arrived in Spain in the Civil War and then went to the rugged Galician countryside to take care of the work in the fields. .
The industrialists were not far behind and we also got to enjoy a couple of fire trucks each one with his character. On the one hand they brought a Renault from the early 20s in what seemed to be an excellent condition and, on the other, another Renault from we don't really know which model because it was the typical post-war Spanish rebooted. It is noteworthy that the latter was provided by the Lugo City Council.

Quality hyperrealist art did not miss the appointment thanks to Carlos Suárez Felipe
A very worthy regional appointment
The classics donated by the institutions did not end there, since the Lugo Provincial Council contributed two trucks and a Land Rover Santana that, according to what they told us, were still active. And we cannot fail to mention the exceptional Pegaso refrigerated truck three-axis, who could freeze in there! It was absolutely sweet.
Finally, it would be unfair to end this review without referring to the three Seat 1200 Sports and the two 600 who, among others, crossed the entrance to the enclosure; and without pointing out that the supply of spare parts, magazines, automobilia, conferences (one of them again by the great Ramón Roca) and, even, art and detailing, it was enough. The same could be said of the influx of the public, who we encourage to leave home and not miss the next edition.
