Successful participation of Seat in the Historic Monte-Carlo Rally

With these words from the arrival podium in Monaco, Salvador Cañellas summarized his participation in the Historic Monte-Carlo Rally 2017, a test to which he returned 40 years after his fourth overall place in the Monte-Carlo in 1977.

From the departure ceremony from Barcelona, Canellas and his co-pilot Daniel ferrater They have experienced a lot of emotions when traveling the sections they had done long ago. An unforgettable experience of which SEAT and his department of Historic Cars they feel especially proud and that they have wanted to share with all the fans and motor enthusiasts. Apart from the final position -71st overall-, Salvador Cañellas and Daniel Ferrater have enjoyed the most at the wheel of the 124 Special group 4 of the Spanish brand. This is confirmed by Cañellas himself:

“From the first to the last stage, we have had a great time. The car has behaved perfectly and I am very happy and excited about everything that has happened to us throughout these days. I have received the affection of the people remembering our participation in 1977 and everything has been unforgettable. I want to thank the SEAT Coches Históricos team for their dedication and effort, and also for giving me the opportunity to participate in the Monte-Carlo again ”.

The Seat 127 of Hernández / Alsina shines with its own light

It was the first participation of SEAT Historic Cars in the Monte Carlo and the result has been excellent, placing its three vehicles in the top 80 out of a total of 338 participants.

One of the sensations of the race was the SEAT 127 by Javier Hernández and Eloi Alsina, achieving nothing less than the triumph in class 1 of category 4, finishing in the 18th absolute place and, furthermore, being the first Spanish team. A great rally that was forged from the beginning, since in the first stage they achieved a surprising third place, always placing themselves in the top 15 of the classification in all stages.

Also, Fernando Gómez Blanco and Juan Collín, at the controls of a SEAT 1430, He has had an exceptional and rapidly progressing career, finishing 78th overall.

Undoubtedly, the historic SEAT models caused a great sensation throughout the five days of competition of the Rallye Monte-Carlo Histórico 2017, being one of the attractions for the public, both on the stages and in the closed parks and areas of attendance.
