Between the past days 20 and 22 of March the 5th edition was held of the living room Retro Galicia organized by the company "Eventos del Motor". After four editions based in Santiago de Compostela, the last ones did not have the expected level, and it seems that the transfer to the Vigo Fair Institute has done the event well.
The fair was made to coincide with the XV edition of the show "Motorocasión de Vigo", what we suppose will have helped a greater influx of public although the organizers have not provided official attendance figures.
As for what could be seen inside the enclosure, about 200 vehicles of all kinds they were waiting for the fan. Also several stands of automobilia and parts although the number of the latter was somewhat scarce.
Combined hobbies
The fans that exist in Galicia –and in Portugal, due to its proximity- was noted in the high level of the above, starting with the various high-priced sports cars that had scattered to all corners. Several Ferraris, including a beautiful 250 GT 2 + 2 from the early 60s; a selection of Renault 5 Rallyes - Cup, Turbo 2 and Maxiturbo - or a rare BMW M1 from the 80s are just some examples.
You could even see two Lancia Aurelia B20 GT units from the 50s, one of them to restore and with a Mexican license plate (!), A Mercedes-Benz 300 SL "Seagull Wings" or the magnificent pieces to which we are accustomed the specialist Juan Lumbreras.
And in addition, several "popular" classics, some motorcycles and even assorted industrials like a 1935 Chrysler hearse, an Ebro B-35 or the spectacular buses of the Galician company Cuiña, especially the magnificent Hispano-Suiza T-69 from the 30s, recently restored. As you can see, the room enjoyed a great variety of genres.

Retro Galicia: Against the Tide
Outside it was also lively throughout the weekend, because apart from the individuals who parked their classics in the car park enabled for this purpose, there were concentrations of Lancia Delta Integrale, Porsche, Alfa Romeo, VW Beetle or the "Discovery" Rally, in which top class classics.
In short, Retro Clásica is an event that seems to have a good direction, in the opposite direction to other national fairs most renowned. We will see if this trend continues next year, as the Galician fans deserve a first-class show.
