The Lamborghini of Klima-Lounge
A famous classic car dealer, a specialist of the brand, which deserves to be mentioned, Klima-Lounge, presented the best-stocked independent stand at the current edition of the Essen Motor Show, with models covering all the classic production of the Sant 'factory. agata Bolognese, from the first front-engined Lamborghini Touring to spectacular Countach, passing through Isleros, Urracos, Espadas and Miuras.
Possibly the most interesting were the 1969 Lamborghini Espada prototype, presented on the occasion of the Monaco Grand Prix of the same year and which was driven on the initial closing lap of the circuit by Prince Rainier, accompanied by his wife Grace Kelly. Among other exclusive options, the car is equipped with a glass roof and a 15-layer metallic paint.
Also on display was one of the first Countach, with a narrow body and without aerodynamic attachments, with the dashboard signed by its designer, Marcello Gandini. The car contrasted with other versions of the Countach with widened fenders and large rear spoilers.
Prestigious brands
Prestigious brand dealers filled practically the entire No. 1 pavilion and, naturally, there was no lack of Porsche of all eras and characteristics, as well as the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL, one of the great favorites of the national public. In a more modest category, featured a Borgward Isabella coupe that it had solved the problem of luggage transport by equipping itself with a trailer built with the rear axle and rear part of the body of a twin car.
However, British brands such as Bentley and French brands such as Citroën also stood out, whose DS model continues its appreciation process, especially when it comes to Chapron cabriolets.
The mecca of modeling
We will not close this chronicle without mentioning that Essen continues to be a paradise for collectors of scale models, to the point that it is possible to affirm that if it is not in Essen it is not in the world. All prices and qualities are available to fans, with attractive specimens starting at amounts as modest as 5 euros per unit.
The management company of the exhibition fair, Messe-Essen, has already announced a total remodeling of the facilities that will begin in 2016 to be inaugurated in 2019, with the demolition and reconstruction of the old pavilions and a complete adaptation to the most current needs of a great international fair. Hall 3 will be safe as it is recently built and the work will be carried out progressively so as not to interrupt the normal activities of the various fairs organized during the work period.
