4th Arganzuela Classics Meeting, the first event of the year in Madrid

As it has become customary In this publication, we briefly tell you what the IV Solidarity Meeting of Classic and Historical Vehicles gave of itself in the Matadero area, in the Madrid district of Arganzuela, which took place on the first Sunday of the year, January 7.

The organization, again, came from the hand of Veteran Car Club of Spain and the Renault 4/4 Friends Club with the collaboration of, among others, ERMevents y 'Classic Engine'. Thanks to the transfer of space by the city council they were able to carry out this concentration again. We are quite struck by the fact that they have had the support of the municipal administration, which, we already know, that in recent years has not exactly adopted a position of collaboration and support for events related to the world of motoring within the capital. , but we are delighted that, for now, we can count on the first big meeting of the year at this location.

IV Meeting of Arganzuela, weighed down by time

This year, the great enemy has been the weather, which with quite unstable weather, cold and intermittent rain, managed to dampen the call, throwing back many fans and collectors, so this time many fewer cars came that in previous years and, therefore, considerably fewer kilos of food were collected for the NGOs; a real shame, since until now it had been one of the best concentrations of classics within the Community of Madrid. It is already known that there are many owners who do not like to take their vehicles out when there is salt on the pavement, one of the main causes of corrosion, as well as rain, an element that tests the tightness of older cars , and above all, if they are convertibles.

However, I assure you that the visit was worth it, Well, a significant number of brave people traveled to the Casa del Reloj on Paseo de la Chopera, where we were able to see a few interesting cars up close, as shown in the images that accompany these lines.

Let's hope that next year we can tell you that once again the meeting point was small and new areas had to be set up to be able to park a good part of our history.
