More than 30 Jaguars in a greenhouse: Find in Southampton

PHOTOS FINDING JAGUAR: BEAULIEU GARAGE

We know that many of you go around looking for cars in warehouses. Wandering the countryside looking for rust is also a good method for motor archeology. We even know amateurs who, in their nosing around abandoned cars, use aerial photography to help themselves. Thanks to these efforts, unique jewels have been recovered.

However, what happened a few days ago in the south of England is something we have never seen. And it is that they have been rescued more than thirty Jaguar deposited for years in a ... Greenhouse! Yes, one of the best places for corrosion to do its thing. Hidden under plastics, these jewels of the English automotive -most of them are first-series E-Type units- have been exposed to a worrying mix of humidity and heat.

An alarming fact, even more so if we take into account the low resistance to rust posed by the Coventry classics. But nevertheless, the reality seems to be much more flattering than the appearance offered in the photographs available. In fact, just a couple of weeks after the salvage by a local classic dealer, one of these cars is now on sale. And on top of it is a pretty special unit.

FINDING FOR JAGUAR COLLECTORS

The place of this discovery has been Beaulieu, where it makes the cool Autojumble. First interesting fact, since if you are attracted to any of the rescued vehicles you will not have to head to a lost purchase and sale in the middle of Texas, but only to the south of the United Kingdom. There is the classic dealer Beaulieu Garage, which is going to market the more than 30 Jaguars after removing them from their plastic capsule.

Details on how the discovery was made have not yet emerged, but what we do know is that each and every car has its history and documentation. An important reference, since to a greater or lesser extent all these Jaguars need a good set-up. Among them dominate the E-Type of the first series, although we have also seen some XK150s in both the coupe and convertible versions.

According to data provided by Beaulieu Garage, corrosion has only done significant damage to a few units. Most of them are in relatively good condition, needing only cleaning, painting and meticulous fine tuning. In fact, and according to the dealer himself, several of these Jaguars will be on sale within a few weeks in a state of repair. "Go up and start". So much so that there is already one of them on offer.

JAGUAR XK150 DHC LHD. THE LAST IN THE SERIES?

In need of restoration, we find a really special XK150. So much so, that those of Beaulieu Garage They are still confirming two very striking data. The first seems almost certain now; it is the last Jaguar XK150 painted in cream color. While the second still needs more confirmations; it could be the last XK150 to roll off the assembly line.

Its history is well documented, thanks to which we know that it was originally exported to New York in 1960. Its 3 liter mechanics seems to be in good condition, although it is true that the dealer himself sells it as a "Project to restore". Specifically, they are doing it for 40.000 pounds, which is 47.527 euros.

Not a crazy opportunity if you have a certain fetish for chassis numbers, especially if it turns out that this is the last of the nearly 9.400 Jaguar XK150s built in Coventry as of October 1960. Possibly, the jewel in the crown in this find that closes in style the discoveries made this 2019.
