FEVA promotes the FIVA Card to circulate in Spanish cities

Last day 6 June The long-awaited meeting was held between the authorities responsible for Regulations of the DGT and FEVA (Spanish Federation of Antique Vehicles). The meeting was held within an atmosphere of maximum cordiality between the parties and where FEVA was able to verify the interest that the General Directorate has in protecting our automobile heritage and facilitating the use and enjoyment of our vehicles within the normal use of the roads.

Among the requests that the Spanish Federation submitted to the Head of the Regulatory Organization Unit we can highlight two aspects of maximum interest to fans and entities related to our hobby: the need to systematize the identification of classic vehicles for the purposes of their control in traffic restrictions and, on the other hand, the possible modifications in RD 1247 that regulates registration .

Regarding the possibility of including a circular sticker specific identification of "historical" or H, similar to those approved to classify the different levels of polluting substances, the provision of the DGT very positive and FEVA raised a proposal similar to those agreed in other European countries so that it is not necessary to register or catalog a vehicle as "Historic" mandatory to obtain it.

Classic vehicles that are more than 30 years old in possession of a valid driving license, technical data sheet and ITV will only have to obtain a FIVA identity card to be eligible for the future H mark that allows them to circulate in our cities.

FEVA would send the list of vehicles with the ID card. FIVA in force periodically to the DGT so that this in turn could send the H mark to its owners.

The FIVA identity card It can be obtained by requesting it from the FIVA National Authorities of each country, FEVA in the case of Spain, certifies the authenticity, technical classification and preservation group and has a cost of 120 euros.

Likewise, the head of regulations at the DGT found it very appropriate to have FEVA as the only valid interlocutor to deal with issues related to classic or collector vehicles, as the entity that represents the majority of clubs and fans in Spain.

In the case of the modification of the Royal Decree of the Historic Vehicles Regulation in force, it does not seem that there is a will to introduce modifications in the short term, so that FEVA will remain informed and vigilant to contribute the point of view of the fans when it is decided to tackle this task.
