New Museum In Barcelona: Retro Auto Moto Ramm

Long ago we commented on The Escudería existence of an unusual car museum in Chelyabinsk, Russia, where most of the exhibits had Spanish registration. A curious case, without a doubt, to which we have finally found an explanation: A few days ago, those responsible for that museum contacted us to inform us that the same "patron" has opened another museum ... This time in Barcelona!

Yes, in calle Sant Pere Mes Alt, number 41, from 10 a.m. to 19 p.m. from Monday to Sunday and with a ticket that costs 8 euros. He Retro Auto Museum RAMM It's been open for a few months now. Its promoter is a Russian citizen named Vladimir Spiridonov, who has established his second residence in Barcelona and, seeing that there was no public museum dedicated to motoring, he has decided to open it himself.

A museum with unknown charms

Inside, perfectly lit and decorated with automotive objects, we can see an interesting selection of cars ... let's say peculiar. They are certainly not what one usually sees in museums –at least in Spain-, and the visitor will hardly have seen several of the models on display before. The criterion followed by its creator has been simply to gather a varied team of cars of brands already defunct, many of them brought from outside our borders.

The striking thing about the case is that if in the Russian museum there are lots of classics originally registered in Spain, in the Barcelona museum there are several Russian-made cars brought from there (Volga M21, Moskvich, ZAZ), and even cars produced in the "block from the east “, how a Czech Tatra or an ifa from East Germany. Curious, isn't it?

This "cultural exchange" is completed with all kinds of vehicles from defunct brands, both American and European. A rare Marquette “Landulet” from 1930, utilities like Rosengart, Adler, Essex, Mathis, funny bikecars from Senechal, Benjamin or BSA brands, forgotten English brands like Lea Francis, etc etc.

The oldest It is a Norbert Ertle made in Germany. The date of production is unknown -or other details of the manufacturer-, but the truth is that it is one of those primitive motor cars, in the strictest literal sense of the description, so it must have been manufactured at the end of the XNUMXth century.

There are also motorcycles ...

And in addition to cars, in this museum you can also see an interesting selection of motorcycles, most of them from before 1940 and from brands such as Terrot, Excelsior, Monet & Goyon, Motobecane, Ariel, AJS, Motoconfort, Koehler Escoffier or DKW, among other. Nor can you miss a small shop with miniatures and you can even find discontinued magazines.

In conclusion, the opening of a new museum in Spain is great news and we can only wish Mr. Spiridonov the best of success.

And continue to complete your collection!

My name is Francisco Carrión and I was born in Ciudad Real in 1988, a place that was not at first akin to vintage cars. Fortunately my grandfather, dedicated to the automotive sector, had friends who owned veteran cars and participated in the annual rally that was held (and continues to be held) in my hometown ...
