In the Sports Palace of the Asturian capital, the 20th International Classic Vehicle Show “Ciudad de Oviedo” took place on 21 and 17 September.

Organized by the Ovetense Association of the Classic Motor, the event was attended by thousands of fans, who in this edition benefited from an entry price reduced to 6 euros, while those under 16 and over 75 passed free.

A total of 76 stands occupied their space within the pavilion. In them, in addition to spare parts for classic and veteran motorcycles, you could also find many other objects related to our hobby.

Likewise, it was curious to see that there were people of all ages in the audience, something that will help today's children to become future fans of this type of vehicle.

Both in exhibition classics and for sale, American cars always matter in the Asturian contest.

Thus, in this edition the visitor had the opportunity to contemplate difficult-to-see units, such as an impeccable Edsel Pacer from 1958 or several Buicks from the 50s.

Pedro Serra's 600

In the exhibition section, two examples derived from the Seat 600 and bodied by Pedro Serra stood out. The prototype Sport Pullman coupe and a Corver roadster made in very few units.

Next to both specimens, one of the few surviving Siata 400 CH vans. Another prototype on display was a 4 Matra Murena 4 × 1981, a unique specimen and currently under restoration.

All this together with the stands of the professionals. Among them, those with the largest agglomeration were those selling spare parts for popular classics, with a preponderance of Seat.

Fairs are a good time to "hunt" that missing piece

On the other hand, the French specialist Serge Gonthier came with accessories and spare parts for Gallic models. Therefore, the ideal place to buy a Peugeot 203 headlight, a Renault Frégate instrument panel or a Simca Huit taillight.

In any case, most of the spare parts professionals had material for the most popular Spanish classics.

That is to say, of those manufactured in the '60s and' 70s. And belonging to the Austin-Morris-Mini, Citroën, Renault, Seat and Simca brands.

Similarly, during the tour through the enclosure, anyone could come across different cars on display.

It was the case of a Citroën Traction Avant registered in 1958, or a BMW 3.0 CSL Alpina from 1976 in excellent condition, which without being for sale were interesting to see in detail.

In addition, the public address system warned of the arrival of the different concentrations, dedicated respectively to the Ford Mustang, Citroën Traction Avant, AUTHI, Renault Supercinco GT Turbo and Volkswagen Golf II, plus the traditional Jumble of Popular Classics on Sunday.

1:43 scale miniatures of all manner of collectible vehicles abounded. Or old magazines, even counting on Daniel's stand with the possibility of him offering you - after a click on his laptop - the old magazine with the test of your favorite model.

Already among the classics for sale displayed inside, there was, for example, a 308 Ferrari 4 GTB1976, whose owner was asking for € 35.000.

Or a 911 Porsche 1976 S Targa for € 36.500, a 1938 Cadillac LaSalle coupe for € 25.500 and a 1957 Ford Thunderbird for € 33.500.

Without forgetting the incipient "youngtimers", such as a Peugeot 205 GTI, a Volkswagen Golf II and an Alfa Romeo Spider 2.0 Quadrifoglio Verde. The latter, from 1987 and with 43.000 km, had a new owner with a € 10.000 payment.

Sales space

At the same time, the external area also exhibited around thirty classics willing to change owners. From some Seat 600 at pre-crisis prices to a BMW 635.

And those popular models that are hard to see original and in good condition, like a 1200 Seat 1977 Sport for € 5.500. And a Renault Siete in exceptional condition, with 42.000 km and whose owner asked for € 1.990.

Finally, note the effort made by the Organization, made up of fans like us. Thanks to them and the professionals who prepared their stands, it was possible for enthusiasts and the general public to enjoy the Asturian event.
