PHOTOS ALFA ROMEO GTV SCALINO GTA RECREATION: MANAGEMOTOR
In the restoration of classics there are many currents. Sometimes it is decided to return the car to its factory state. Other times the bodywork is not even touched but underneath even the engine is changed. Many even choose to respect the wear marks called “patina”. Be that as it may, the truth is that sometimes the most striking interventions appear.
In fact, when one of them is based on modifying the original vehicle to create a unique piece ... If it has been done with good taste and prudence, what usually appears is a true 1/1 whim. This is the case we have today. Under what appears outwardly an Alfa Romeo GTA hides a GTV 1300 Scalino. Or well, rather, what we have is something totally new.
And it is that the set of mechanical modifications carried out by the restoration workshop specialized in Italian classics ItalClassic has created a unique vehicle. A project carried out at the whim of the client, thinking to respect the essence of the rabid Italian sports car, projecting it to the possibility of using it every day ...
ALFA ROMEO GTA RECREATION: WIDENED AND POWERED
From the visual section the hallmark of this vehicle has been vitaminize the original Alfa Romeo. As soon as you see it, two things stand out: the widening of the wheel arches and the visible rivets. This gives it a very rough and sporty aesthetic. Sinuous lines for a muscular body under which hides a 2-liter engine of around 150CV.
A not inconsiderable increase in power, since the GTV 1300 Scalino on which it is based had a 1300cc in-line four-cylinder with about 50CV less ... the boys version of ItalClassic we too would have put those 15 ”GTA Replica wheels. In addition, adjustable Koni shock absorbers have been mounted, along with a rear axle with rebuilt limited slip differential to better ensure the transmission of this greater power.
Power that hits the ground after going through an original but completely restored gearbox. That ensures continuing the nervous behavior of the original Alfa, which is more stable in this version of ItalClassic thanks to a thicker front stabilizer bar. The set has a more effective braking thanks to the improvement of the front discs and calipers.
Meanwhile, inside everything remains the same ... To finish off a set in a neutral color and little seen that we are sure it will delight the Alfistas this holidays 😉
