The Superclasses that changed the species, Mobility City opens an exhibition

Located in the capital Zaragoza, since its inauguration Mobility City has had a spectacular selection of classic and sports models that have marked the main milestones in automotive history.

Mobility City is the Technological Museum of Mobility, and its main objective is to analyze present and future trends in this matter. To move towards the future, you must first understand the past and therefore remember which vehicles have marked an era. In this way, visitors to Mobility City will be able to enjoy this temporary exhibition called "The Superclasses that changed the species".

It has vehicles like the Benz Patent-Motorwagen of 1886 -with which the automobile was officially born- and the Ford Quadriciclo of 1896 that would give rise to the powerful Ford Motor Company. One of the main actors in the show is Jaguar, with its side more linked to competition. The exhibition has a 100% single-seater electric from the ABB FIA World Championship Formula E with which the New Zealander driver Mich Evans finished runner-up in 2022. Also with a car that made history during the 50s in the mythical 24 Hours of Le Mans, Jaguar D-Type.

NATIONAL REPRESENTATION

There is no shortage of famous pre-war racing cars in the collection, such as a Spanish-Swiss Alfonso XIII 1914 or Bugatti Type 37A from 1927. With this unit, the start was taken in the 2021 edition of the most famous classic race in the world: the Mille Miglia. And continuing with the emblematic French brand, the exhibition includes the famous Bugatti Veyron of more than 1.000 CV and that exceeds 400 km/h.

Ford shows the concept TFZ-P1 from Team Fordzilla P1, a car "for gamers" that was born virtual to become real. Its prototype comes from being exhibited at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Aston Martin is another of the prestigious manufacturers represented, with classics popularized by the James Bond film saga. Or more modern limited editions, like the Speedster V12 of which they were only made 88 units for everyone.

Finally, the first Porsche of history, 356; a cinematic DeLorean, famous for his appearance in the 80s trilogy Back to the Future; the exclusive hypercar Ares Modena S1 Project 2023; or real jewels like the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL “Seagull Wings” from 1955 -unit that comes from the recent and successful exhibition held at the Guggenheim in Bilbao: “Motion. Cars, Art, Architecture”-, complete a living exhibition. This will change periodically to the delight of the most nostalgic and enthusiasts of the automobile world.

I am lucky to have turned my passion into my way of earning a living. Since I left the Faculty of Information Sciences in 2004, I have been professionally dedicated to motor journalism. I started in the magazine Coches Clásicos in its beginnings, going on to direct it in 2012, the year in which I also took charge of Clásicos Populares. Throughout these almost two decades of my professional career, I have worked in all types of media, including magazines, radio, the web and television, always in formats and programs related to the engine. I am crazy about the classics, Formula 1 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
