Mallorca Classic Week: How was it?

On Wednesday the starting gun took place with a barbecue in the center of Palma. Thursday and Friday were dedicated to driving where participants could select different routes specially designed to get to know, on board a classic car, some of the most beautiful places in Mallorca.

However, the high point of the event was lived on Saturday with the celebration of the International Elegance Contest. The participating cars were exhibited in Port Adriano since the morning to the delight of the visitors, while the international jury inspected them with detail and care. About 8.000 people they were able to admire the jewels placed throughout the building designed by Philippe Starck: a great success to combine the beauty of classic cars with the avant-garde design of this beautiful port.

In the afternoon, coinciding with the bright golden light of the Mallorcan sunset, gave way to the "parade" of the cars that headed the replica of the 1886 Benz tricycle, privately owned by a collector, brought for the occasion from the Mercedes museum in Stuttgart courtesy of Motorworld (event partner). This was followed by the presentation of the 16 awards divided into different categories.

The prestigious award "Best of Show" was awarded this year to the singular BMW 3200 CS Bertone; a sensational car of which only one copy was built and combined the best of German technology of that time with the best Italian design. There was also the award for the best Mallorcan car and the award for the best classic yacht.

Also on Saturday there was a concentration of American vehicles with the performance of Elvis Presley, and where a Pin Ups girls contest was held, which set one of the busiest areas of Port Adriano with a fun and lively staging. There was no lack of live music and spontaneous swing dance fans.
